| Father Clarence Sugarfur and his family live deep in the woods near a grove of maple trees. In early spring, Clarence taps the maples and collects the sap from the trees. He then takes the sap and boils it until it turns into sweet maple syrup! |  |

| Mother Hazel Sugarfur helps her husband make the syrup, and then puts it in jars and takes it to town. Nearly everyone in town can't wait for Hazel to visit, both because they love buying the syrup and because Hazel is just so friendly! | |||||||
| Brother Ash Sugarfur is the best storyteller in Sylvania. His stories are always about ghosts and spooky legends. He can make everyone in his audience jump in surprise and scream with fright. But Ash's stories are always fun as well as scary. | |||||||
| Sister Mabel Sugarfur two favorite things is her brother's ghost stories and maple candy, which is made from the maple syrup. Her absolute favorite thing is sitting in front of a fire late at night, listening to a ghost story and eating candy. | |||||||
| Baby Twins Charlie and Carley Sugarfur often have to go to bed before Ash starts telling his ghosts stories. Charlie is always disappointed to miss them, but Carley is all too happy-- she thinks Ash's stories are too scary! | |||||||
