

The Tanuki (Raccoon-Dog) Family
The top picture is the earliest variation of the family, the second picture is the later and more common variation. 'Tanuki' is Japanese for Raccoon-Dog. A Tanuki is a fox-like creature that is dark brown with a large bushy tail and a subtle raccoon-like markings on its face. It only lives in Eastern Asia and Japan.
